kid's bath

For the kid's bath upstairs, I really don't have before photos to show because this was the one area of the house that was majorly reconstructed. The good news was we put in 2 bathrooms where there were already two bathrooms, so there wasn't any major plumbing reconstruction.

So, here are the two bathrooms before, both of which had an, um, interesting texture to the walls (looked like sand had been thrown on them while the paint was wet).

The guest bathroom that I showed yesterday was one of the bathrooms updated and here is the other.

Dressers: Ancient....heehee. They were my dad's when he was little and then my sister and I used them in our bedroom growing up. I was shocked they fit perfectly here.
Sink & Faucets: Kohler
Medicine Cabinets: Restoration Hardware. I wanted to use the recessed ones, but we had pipes in this wall so we couldn't.
Lighting: Can't remember, but it was not Schoolhouse Electric.
Yellow Things: Some figurines we picked up in Mexico on vacation.
Frames: Unknown, but cheap.
Artwork: Children in Paris, Back to School, Moon Phases, Anywhere, You are My Sunshine, and several prints by Tina Aszmus.

The beadboard is 55" from the floor and the ledge is about 3".

The eggs are a found item from an antique mall.

And, through the doorway, there's the shower/tub and toilet.

The oranges are a print torn out of a catalog by Oliver Jeffers.

Shower Curtain: I can't remember, but I bought it recently. If I think of it, I'll update the link.

Just to toot my own horn, I actually like the paint color I picked for the walls. Shocking that I was able to get that right. I was unsure if it would look too dark in here, but it doesn't, not with the beadboard painted white. On the tile, we used gray grout to kind of tie the two together. This is my favorite bathroom in the house. Hope you like it too.

BEAU-TI-FUL! Love everything you did in this house, but this is one of my favs too. Love that you were able to use those dressers, they are a perfect fit!

Love it! We used gray in our new house for the bed and bath--just a little lighter than yours. Can't wait to see more!

get out ... is that the brockway sink?? that's the EXACT sink i want for MY kids' bathroom when we build! (however, i want to paint the underside red ...) my only concern is whether there will be anywhere to set anything ... i'm not sure our bathroom will be wide enough for a dresser next to it. what is your bathroom dimension? wondering what your clearance is one either side of the sink ...

it looks gorgeous!! i'm so excited to see how it's all come together!

michele, Brockway it is! we chose the 2-faucet sink, but i really wanted the one with 3. It was just sooooooo much more expensive. And, if we had done the 3-faucet, we wouldn't have had room for the dressers. The dressers measure 33" and they fit next to the baseboard on the wall side and within 1-2" of the sink basin. i'm not sure about painting the underside. that's something we talked about, but you would have to find someone to do that, otherwise it would chip off with the type of material it is (cast iron, i think), so the paint would need to be baked on I suppose....We did the medicine cabinets for additional storage and plan to put step-stools underneath the sink when Claire is old enough to use them. One more thing, watch the instructions for hanging the Brockway sink. The plumbers will hang it according to those specs if you don't tell them differently. The way it's written, you should hang the sink much lower (then it really looks like a urinal), so that it's kid-height. But, to me that's not practical because kids grow...So, tell your plumbers the height it should be and plan to be there while they're hanging it to make sure.

JET, i need to find the list of all our paint colors....I can never remember their names.

I saved some of each paint color in their original cans for touch-ups. I wouldn't remember their names otherwise. We used Intellectual Gray from Sherwin-Williams.
We still have work to do, but in due time I suppose. It takes so long, as you well know! So fun to see your transformation.

Officially the prettiest bathroom I've seen - which I'm sure I will have to rescind as soon as I see your master bath.
