Girl's Nite

Okay, so I know I'm late posting this, but better late than never, right? Anyway, I was in Louisville for work and Kelly, Candice, and Shannon met me at CPK for good food, a little shopping and some conversation. We couldn't resist going to Archiver's to look at magazines and use our 30% coupons! Hopefully next time, Scarlet can join in the fun, too!

Kaua'i

So, I'm finally getting around to showing off my Hawaii pics. This one below is the only pic Greg and I have together and we waited until the last night to ask someone to take it. Don't you just hate bothering people to take your picture?
This is one of the MANY photos we took on Polihale beach. According to locals, this beach was going to be named one of the top 10 beaches by National Geographic, but because of the strong currents, they thought it would not be a good idea. We had to access this beach by a 5 mile very BUMPY dirt road (It seriously took us 30 min to go 5 miles), but it was sooooo worth it. And, then my favorite part of the trip, Na Pali. Isn't it gorgeous? I almost didn't get to see it. We were supposed to take a boat out and whale-watch and see the coast, but the motor went out on our boat and the trip was cancelled, so we hurriedly booked a helicopter excursion.

HM call

See how un-glamorous I was when Fred from CK called! This is my rep, Ashley who actually heard my phone call. I was in Hawaii for a business meeting and on our free day, several of us did a rainforest hike. Silly me, I had no idea it would be so wet in the rainforest, so I had to keep my camera and phone under my poncho. Anyway, my phone's playing a symphony and I can't hear it for all the rain coming down, so by the time Ashley told me my phone was ringing, I lift the poncho, and dig through my back-pack, I had missed Fred's call. At least I knew it was an 801 number! I waited and waited, what seemed like an eternity (probably 30min) and Fred called back while I was in the bamboo forest. Even though I was covered in mud from head to toe by the end of the hike, the most memorable moment was that phone call! And, thanks Ashley, for hearing my phone ring.

Gone!

Well, I finally did it. On Tuesday, I had 13 inches of hair cut off to give to locks of love. I probably wouldn't have done it, except I told everyone I knew the date I was cutting it, so I couldn't back out. It was scary!!! Do you want to know the real reason I did it? I was complaining one day about my thick, frizzy, wavy hair and my mother told me that I shouldn't be so selfish (moms are good about reminding you of things like this). So, to prove her wrong, I told her I would give it to Locks of Love. And, yes, it was probably a rash statement, but a good one. Hopefully a wonderful child will be blessed with my thick, frizzy, and wavey hair and they'll probably appreciate it more than I did!
