adjusting

On a positive note, the dogs don't hate Claire. They just want to be wherever she is 100% of the time.

If I'm in claire's room, they are too. Jett even followed me in the middle of the night last week.

If Claire is under a blanket, there must be room for two dogs there too.

And most definitely when she's nursing. Claire and two dogs are easy to balance on a boppy (side note: the best invention ever).

But, I'm being patient because thus far they've done nothing mean or spiteful. They've been quite cute actually. I'm pleased to say I love them more now that Claire is here than I did before. She loves looking at them and studying them if they'd stay still long enough... I just know they'll grow to be great friends one day.

  1. Ha! Too funny! I've heard the expression "raised by wolves," but I'm thinking Claire will be in the "raised by lap dogs" category instead.

  3. I love how they've taken over the roles of constant protectors.

  4. I love this sentence:
"If Claire is under a blanket, there must be room for two dogs there too."

  5. Great picture!!! My daughter Harper and her doggie Josie are best friends, quite literally. When I first brought Harper home I was scared that Josie would hurt Harper or that she would be sad that she was kind of being replaced as the baby of the family. But Josie is a wonderful dog, and Harper licks Josie, and Josie licks her back. They are just in love! :)

  6. How funny! Dogs are so interesting. I wonder what's going through their minds right now. When ever our little jack russell hears a baby cry on TV he stops whatever he's doing and investigates. He's so funny.

I'm glad your new family is adjusting. BTW, I hope you'll get a pic of those pups trying to sneak under the blankie with Claire. That would make a great layout and story to tell. :)

  7. Ezri has had her doggie since birth, too, and they are wonderful friends. I think it makes a little girl feel special to have a protector, and in Claire's case, TWO protectors. :-)

  11. That's great! I know one of my cats was the same way when I had my babies. It's like they have to check them out, but they are also protecting them.

  12. Aw! I love this picture! I was so nervous to introduce our doggies to Ethan (5 months). Everyone kept telling me horror stories, but my little fur babies have taken to him so well. You'd think he was their baby.
