To all my non-scrappy friends, you may quit reading because you'll find this post incredibly boooooooringggggggggggg.
My challenge for NSD was to use mist over a pattern. You can read more about the challenge here as well as the prize involved.
Now, for my take on my own challenge.
Here, I used black/white patterned paper by October Afternoon as my backdrop. Then, I punched circles from a piece of scrap paper using my Mega Punch by Marvy. I used the negative image of the punch to mist in orange. After making about 5 orange circles with Maya Mist (the key here is to let the circles "fall off" the page), I then used the 5 punched circles and laid them over top of the orange circles as a mask. Finally, I sprayed brown mist over the whole page. So, I created a circle pattern over the existing pattern. Kind of busy, yet fun, don't ya think?
I used blue and green mist with punched stars from the Chatterbox Fabulous Die Cuts (the cork scallops came from there as well). The rest of the layout was made exclusively from items in the May kit, Playground.
I cheated a bit, since it's not actually NSD today, but I plan to do another take on this challenge plus participate in some of the other designers' challenges all day tomorrow. So, I'll post my layouts here as I complete them.
Please post links to your LOs ON THIS POST in order to win. I will be closing down at 11:59pm EST on 5/2 and will announce a randomly drawn winner on Sunday. Happy Scrapping!
